Brisbane City Local Government Area
The Change Commission is reviewing the internal boundaries (wards) of the Brisbane City Council. The purpose of this review is to ensure each ward of the Council has a similar number of voters (quota), so that each person's vote has the same value.
The quota for each ward of Brisbane is 29,699 electors. A lower limit of 26,729 electors (-10%) and an upper limit of 32,668 electors (+10%) is allowed. As at 31 January 2019, three of Brisbane's wards did not meet the quota and a fourth ward was close to the lower limit. See below for details.
