Current applications to change the Register of Political Parties

Previous applications to change the Register of Political Parties

The Electoral Commission of Queensland (the ECQ) proposes to cancel the registration of United Australia Party (UAP), which is a political party registered under Part 6 of the Electoral Act 1992 (the Act).

The cancellation of registration has been requested by the Registered Officer of UAP.

If you believe that the registration of UAP should not be cancelled, you may submit to the ECQ, by 20 September 2021, a statement setting out the grounds for the objection. The statement must include your address and be signed by you.

The statement should be sent to: -

The Electoral Commission of Queensland (the ECQ) has received an application under the provision of Part 6 of the Electoral Act 1992 (the Act) to make the following change in the register of political parties:

Change the Registered Officer for Liberal National Party of Queensland:
Current Registered Officer:  Michael O’Dwyer
Proposed Registered Officer:  Tony Eyres

If you believe that this change should not be made because the proposed change does not fulfil the requirements specified in the Act, you may submit to the ECQ, by 26 July 2021, a statement setting out the grounds for the objection. The statement must include your address and be signed by you.

Party registration decisions and changes

Pursuant to the provisions of Part 6 of the Electoral Act 1992, the Electoral Commission of Queensland has cancelled the registration of the following political party –

Date of cancellation: 24 September 2021

Previous registered name of party:  Clive Palmer’s United Australia Party
New registered name of party:  United Australia Party

Previous registered abbreviation:  Clive Palmer’s UAP
New registered abbreviation: UAP
