A by-election was held to elect a new councillor to the Napranum Aboriginal Shire Council.

COVID-19 measures
A COVID-safe plan was in place at the polling booth. It included things like extra cleaning and hand sanitiser was available at the polling booth.
Electors were encouraged to:
- stay 1.5 metres away from people who are not from their household
- wear a mask indoors unless they had an exemption/exception that is listed in the current health directive. (Children under 12 did not have to wear a mask).
Electors were welcome to bring their own pen or pencil to vote.
