In August 2022, a by-election was held to elect a new Mayor of the Whitsunday Regional Council.

- Candidate nominations close – 12pm Monday 25 July 2022
- Ballot paper order draw – 2:30pm Monday 25 July 2022
- Early voting – 9am-5pm, Monday 1 August to Thursday 11 August 2022 & 9am-6pm, Friday 12 August 2022
- Election day – 8am-6pm, Saturday 13 August 2022
