Statutory Declaration Form

Candidates' Nomination Form
To run as an unendorsed candidate you must complete the Candidates' Nomination Form. You can lodge your form with the Returning Officer for the electoral district you want to contest, or  to the Commission. Include your $250 deposit, in cash or by bank cheque, along with the form.

If you are a candidate endorsed by a registered political party, the party’s registered officer will organise the nomination form. You will be asked to sign your consent to the nomination.

Enrolment form

Place your name and address on the electoral roll, or update your enrolment.

Don't forget to update your home and/or mailing address with Queensland Transport within 14 days of a change.

Special Postal Voter form

If you are generally unable to reach a polling place on State election days, you may be eligible to register as a Special Postal Voter. You will be automatically sent a ballot pack for State (and Federal) elections, so that you can vote by post.

Electoral Visit Vote application form

If you are unable to attend a polling booth during polling hours for reasons, such as disability or illness, you may apply to the Returning Officer for a visit to your residence by a specially designated Polling Official. Note that this provision is for State elections only.

Postal Vote application form

You may qualify for postal voting if, for example:

  • you will be interstate or overseas on polling day. You should apply for a postal vote before you leave
  • you are ill, have a disability or are in advanced pregnancy
  • you care for a person who is ill, has a disability or is pregnant
  • you belong to a religious order, or because of religious beliefs
  • work or travel prevents you from attending a polling booth on polling day.

You must send your postal vote application to reach the Returning Officer in your electoral district or the Commission by 6pm on the Thursday before polling day. You will be sent a ballot paper and declaration envelope, which you must complete by 6pm on polling day. You must then post your vote in the envelope provided so that the Returning Officer receives it no later than 6pm on the 10th day after polling day.

Application to register as a silent elector

If you believe that you or any member of your family would be endangered by having your name appear on the roll, you can apply to become a silent elector and have voting material sent to you automatically.

Application for Enrolment for Persons with No Fixed Address

If you are eligible to vote in Queensland, but have no fixed address, you can apply to become an itinerant elector.

If you are eligible to vote in Queensland and are moving overseas for six years or less, you can become an overseas elector and retain your right to vote.
