Election Results for the 2004 State General Election The Queensland State Election is on 7 February 2004. Writ Details. The Writ for the 51st Queensland General Election was issued 13 January 2004. Remember, if you are travelling in Queensland on polling day, you can have an absent vote at any polling booth. Polling booths will be open from 8am to 6pm only. If you don’t think that you can get to a polling booth on polling day, you may be eligible for a pre-poll in person vote or a postal vote or an electoral visit vote. We encourage you to bring this letter with you when you come to vote.
